A calm place to start
No pressure. Just play.
You do not need to read music or own a kit. We start with a simple groove, then build your coordination and confidence one small win at a time.
Built around you
No two lesson plans here look the same.
There is no syllabus everyone gets marched through. A five-year-old, a teenager and an adult starting from nothing all need something different, so I plan each lesson around the student in front of me. You will still be playing something real in the first half hour.
Songs
We use music you actually like.
Bring me a song you want to play and we work backwards from it. Learning a groove sticks far better when it belongs to something you already love.
Pace
We move when you are ready.
No term schedule to keep up with. If a beat needs three more weeks, it gets three more weeks. If it clicks in ten minutes, we go further that same lesson.
Goal
Playing for fun and playing for grades are not the same lesson.
Some students want to jam with friends, some want to join a band, some are working toward exams. Tell me which, and the plan changes to match.
Age
A child's lesson is not a shrunken adult's.
With younger kids I keep it short, physical and game-like. With adults I explain more of the why, because that is usually what they want to know.

Who you will learn from
Hello, I am Jorell.
I have been playing drums for six years, from starting out on a borrowed practice pad to playing with SOLARA and working as a session drummer.
I teach beginners because I still remember the first month: hands and feet refusing to cooperate, and not knowing whether you are doing it wrong or just doing it slowly.
Based near Beauty World MRT in Bukit Timah, Singapore, I teach kids from age 5 and adults looking for friendly, affordable private drum classes.
